These beautifully crafted white teakwood and plant fiber brushes are your new favorite plastic-free items in the kitchen.
Hard Bristles: It is ideal for general dish washing, with dish soap or with a dishwashing block. Made with stiffer plant fiber bristles (agave fibers and palmyra fibers), it's better designed to tackle heavier grit and stains, including for cast iron pots.
Soft Bristles: Great for more delicates dishes, it can also be used on vegetables that need a good scrub! It's made with medium weight agave fiber bristles, grown, harvested, sun-dried and processed in Mexico using traditional techniques to ensure a high quality and strong natural fiber. The handle has a light non-toxic wood coating to increase longevity.
It comes without any packaging, and it's 100% compostable (backyard and commercial compost) at the end of its life.
Longevity: Each brush can be used for 3 months or more. Make sure to not submerge or soak the wooden parts in water. Rinse and hang to dry or place in a dry spot after each use.
If you find your brush is not staying dry, dip the bristles in vinegar occasionally to help kill bacteria. The white teakwood is naturally antibacterial but the vinegar will help too.
Continue using this brush until the bristles no longer work, then compost or bury in garden or dispose in a green waste bin. Stop using the brush and replace it if you see any mold growth.
The wood handle is not made of the endangered Teak species; White Teakwood is a different species, fast-growing (similar to bamboo) and even considered a weed in some countries because it grows so fast.
