PART TIME RETAIL ASSOCIATE - BERKELEY, CA

Start date: ASAP

Fillgood is on a mission to reduce plastic waste. Started in 2017 as the 1st Bay Area Refill Service, we help people lead a Zero Waste and Plastic Free life. 

We have a storefront on the busy Solano avenue in Berkeley and a delivery service available in more than 20 cities around the Bay Area. We are looking for a new retail associate to join our team of Zero Waste enthusiasts.

Responsibilities

The Sales Associate is responsible for providing a positive experience while customers are shopping in store.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serving customers and helping them select products.
  • Driving sales through engagement of customers and sharing product knowledge.
  • Greeting and receiving customers in a welcoming manner.
  • Responding to customers' questions related to our mission, our products or zero waste in general.
  • Helping customers at the Refill Corner

The Sales Associate also participates in all the store operations (checkout, restocking shelves, online orders fulfillment, jars cleaning, empty containers return to our closed loop partners, etc.) and maintains a clean working environment.

Details

Job Type: Part time, one to three days / week

Starting date: ASAP

Work location: Fillgood store, 1579A Solano ave, Berkeley

Must be available on Sundays.

Hourly Rate: Starting at $18/h, negotiable depending on experience.

Qualities we are looking for

-Passionate about Zero Waste, strong interest to learn and live the lifestyle

-Familiar with the products we carry

-Previous customer service and retail experience

-Strong communication, collaboration and organization skills

-Adaptable, self motivated

-Loves working in a team, but has the ability to work independently

-Ability to learn quickly about the tools (online apps, Google office) used in store

-Able to function in a fast paced environment, refill demand can get high on weekends

-Great customer service and friendly attitude

Physical requirements

Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, kneel, on an intermittent basis.

Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
