Plastic Free July Challenge: Week 1 Summary!

Plastic free july challenge reusable

Congratulations, you’ve made it to the end of this first Plastic Free July week!

First things first: celebrate and be proud about yourself, changing habits requires efforts and discipline. And you’re doing something good for you and for the world!

Second: save this beautiful pic by Zero Waste California, share it with your friends, print it and put it on your fridge as a reminder :-)

Now, how was the challenge for you? What was the easiest change? The most difficult one?

Here’s what my week looked like:
  • 0 plastic straws
  • 0 plastic utensils
  • 2 plastic water bottles: big water leak in our street on July 4th, no more tap water from 8am until 5pm 😔 And we had invited friends over for a BBQ 😀. Fortunately for us, it was a late afternoon BBQ! And at least, this made me think that we really need to prepare our earthquake emergency kit!!
  • 0 coffee cups: I drink coffee at home (no pods, I love our espresso machine!) no need for more when I go out.
  • 0 plastic bags
  • 0 plastic to-go box but 2 compostable ones —> this is my challenge, I’m not completely disposable to-go box free 😃
Enjoy your plastic-free victories and see you tomorrow for Week 2!!
